The bananas are usually underrated fruit, especially since there are so many different fruit available in the supermarket.  But bananas contain a lot of nutrition like vitamins, minerals, natural sugars and fiber.

The biggest misconception people have about bananas is that as soon as bananas start to have brown spots on them, people assume that  they are rotten and thrown them out. Actually nothing could be further from the truth. The fact is, as banana ripens, it starts to get brown spots on the skin, but that does not impact the fruit inside. And actually, more spots the banana has on it, more TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor) (1) it contains. TNF helps body fight abnormal cells in our body. Besides TNF, bananas have antioxidant properties which further can help immune system protect the body.

So next time you see a brown banana,  don’t throw it out, eat it up and enjoy all the health benefits that come with brown banana.

I did try to verify these claims, only article I could find that supported these claims is a Japanese study (1) and I was unable to find any other scientific study that was conducted on this issue. Since the Japanese study is scientifically valid, I decided to publish this article.
